today I'm taking all of the feedback I received in class and working towards a stronger idea. Ive seen framed screens at an art supply that I am curious to try as well. I think they could add an impact with the embroidery in some way. I am feeling very strong about the idea of the plants coming through and invading a lot of space around the portrait. Ive also been looking to Friedo Kahlo for inspiration.
I have always loved her "self portrait with thorn necklace and hummingbird" but looking at it with this concept idea I have and the invasive species, I want to try to incorporate more of the invasive species/animals and things surrounding the girl. Maybe in a way of a series.
